Privacy Policy for WifiScope

Cyklodev ("we", "us", or "our") operates the WifiScope mobile application ("the App").

This Privacy Policy explains how WifiScope handles information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

WifiScope is designed to scan and analyze Wi-Fi networks in the user's surrounding environment and to display measurements on a map.

When performing Wi-Fi scans, the App may collect and store the following information:

Wi-Fi measurements and associated location information are stored locally on the user's device.

WifiScope does not operate a server to which Wi-Fi scan data or location data are transmitted.

Cyklodev does not receive, collect, or store the Wi-Fi measurements or GPS locations generated by WifiScope on its own servers.

3. Data Transmission

WifiScope does not transmit Wi-Fi scan results or geographic location data to Cyklodev or to any other server operated by Cyklodev.

The App does not require the creation of a user account.

Users may voluntarily export their Wi-Fi measurements using the export functionality provided by the App. Exported data may contain Wi-Fi information and geographic coordinates. Once exported or shared by the user, the data may be processed by the application or service chosen by the user.

4. Advertising

WifiScope uses Google AdMob to display advertisements.

The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process certain information from the device for purposes including:

Google may process information such as advertising identifiers, device-related information, IP address, approximate location, app interaction information, and other information required to provide and measure advertising services.

WifiScope does not control the information collected directly by Google through its advertising services.

5. Location Permission

WifiScope requires Android location-related permissions because Wi-Fi scanning and the geographic mapping of measurements require access to location information on supported Android versions.

After the user exports or shares a file, Cyklodev has no control over how the recipient or another application handles that information.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Wi-Fi measurements and associated location data remain stored locally on the user's device until the user deletes them through the App, deletes the application's data, or uninstalls WifiScope.

Because WifiScope does not transmit these measurements or locations to Cyklodev servers, Cyklodev does not maintain a separate server-side copy of this information.

Data handled by third-party services such as Google AdMob may be retained according to the policies and practices of those services.

WifiScope is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers, and WifiScope does not require users to create an account or provide personal information to Cyklodev.

Third-party advertising services may have their own requirements and safeguards regarding children and advertising.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by WifiScope.

In particular, Wi-Fi measurements and associated location information used by the App are stored locally on the user's device and are not transmitted to Cyklodev servers.

Users should be aware that no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
